Nonprofit WordPress Website Build

CENTER FOR
ENTREPRENEURSHIP

INTRO

The Center for Entrepreneurship is a program of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. It needed a nonprofit WordPress website its small team could keep running on its own: full of fresh content, easy to update, and built to turn visitors into clients.

THE CHALLENGE

The Center needed more than a website. It needed a site its own team could keep current. The program publishes entrepreneur spotlights, news, and program updates regularly and processes a steady flow of applications from owners who want to become clients. A standard brochure site would have looked good at launch and gone stale within months, and every small update would have meant waiting on a developer. The team needed a site built to be run, not just launched.

A NONPROFIT WORDPRESS WEBSITE BUILT TO RUN

We built a nonprofit WordPress website to the Urban League’s brand, organized around the Center’s core programs: access to capital, procurement and supplier readiness, winning contracts, and strategic marketing. The site is responsive, fast, and set up for the team to manage on its own.

The build included:

  • Custom WordPress theme matched to the Center’s branding
  • Program, About, and Workshops pages, plus a News and Events section with an events calendar
  • Application intake forms, including a dedicated form for the Capital Readiness Program, so interested entrepreneurs move cleanly from visitor to client
  • Page speed and image optimization with WP Rocket and Imagify
  • Managed hosting with a separate staging environment, security hardening, daily backups, and uptime monitoring
  • SEO and analytics setup, plus team training and post-launch support

The site is hosted and maintained by Tenacity, so speed, security, and updates are handled in the background.

THE AI CONTENT ENGINE

This is where the project went past a standard build.

A program team can publish only as fast as it can write, and a busy nonprofit staff rarely has a writer to spare. So we built one into the workflow. We created a full profile of the Center’s mission, programs, voice, and audience, then used it to build a Custom GPT: the Urban League CFE Writer.

The team uses it to turn a rough news item into a publishable blog draft, rewrite placeholder copy, and produce on-brand page content in minutes. It does not replace the team’s judgment. It removes the blank page. Staff who are not writers or developers can keep the site current without either one in the loop.

That is the difference between a site that looks great on launch day and a site that is still full of fresh content a year later.

THE RESULT

The Center runs its own site. Staff publishes spotlights and news without calling a developer, applications arrive in a structured, usable format instead of loose emails, and the Custom GPT keeps content moving even when no one on the team is a writer. Tenacity keeps hosting, security, and speed running in the background, so the team can spend its time on entrepreneurs rather than plugins.
